1. Q: Does a domain name is needed to set up a hosting or VDS account with Go80?
A: Yes, a domain name is needed to set up an account with us.
We can register a new domain name for you or you can purchase a new domain name from another registrar. If you already have a domain name, you can transfer your existing domain name to go80 nameservers or your own VDS nameservers.
2. Q: How can I register the nameservers for my own VDS?
A: You can login your account in the registrar that you have purchased your domain name to make the registration. By pointing your new created nameservers to the IP, which we have assigned to your VDS, you can have your own VDS nameservers.
3. Q: How long does it take for the nameservers of my domain name to update?
A: It typically takes about 24 to 72 hours for the information on the domain name to propagate to all root DNS servers after you register a new domain name or modify the domain nameservers.
During the propagation, if your domain name was hosted at another hosting company before moving it to us, some people will access your site located at the old hosting company, while other people may access your site located at Go80.
Please know this is under the control of the registry, and we do not have any abilities to make this happen faster. However, we suggest that you can modify your nameserver at non-peak hours, such as Saturday night, so that it can make the least influence to your system.
4. Q: Does my account have a web-based control panel?
A: Yes, a web-based control panel is provided with each account. It allows you to manage any aspects of your account such as changing FTP passwords, setting file permission ... Ketc.
For VDS client, you can also use web control panel to create databases, subdomains, webusers and install other applications easily, such as forum, oscommerce, mambo, chatroom ... etc.
